Book Review It's a Book

Smith, L. (2011). It’s a book. NY: Roaring Brook

Excellent message about how great reading is with no bells and whistles needed. But instead of being preachy, it's a funny tale of a donkey irritating a monkey who's trying to read. The illustrations are simple and cute. I can see why it’s banned and challenged. I would just replace the word jackass when reding the book because it has a great message.
